"What's a Profile and why is
it important?"
Behavioral profiling new hires is the latest and most common method
in assessing how an individual will interact within the specified
position, outside the specific skill set required. Understanding
how this individual will interact within a peer group, with management
or managing a team is part of the success of this individual’s
contribution to the organization. The profile will give insight
to whether or not this individual is a good fit for the organizations
view of the job duties and culture. Profiling new hires does not
end there. The entire organization can benefit from completing a
behavioral profile.
Some may wonder what the benefits are to profiling the entire
organization, these individuals are already doing they’re
job. Profiling existing employees may be key to promotions, lateral
moves, organizational change, downsizing and combining positions,
which may add to the bottom line. For example, do you have an over-achiever
who may be able to do not only the job duties required but additional
functions? This individual may possess the behavioral characteristics
for promotion or may not. They may profit more by leaving them to
the rewarding task of over-achieving and fail under the pressure
of additional duties. Have you ever questioned whether or not an
employee would be a good fit for combination of duties even though
they possess the perfect skill set? Or have you promoted someone
to a management position that failed after a long successful run
within the previous position? Behavioral profiling will provide
the necessary assistance to make those strategic decisions.

The profiling system doesn't stop there. The ability to
profile a position to determine what the position warrants in a
certain behavior can be determined with the same results to make
a "perfect match". A sample of a Behavioral Profiling
